Before the 3 DUO and ILUMA generations, IQOS 2.4 Plus established the familiar two-part format: a compact Holder paired with a larger Pocket Charger. Soft Black gives that classic design its darker and more understated appearance.

One Holder Use at a Time
The charging routine defines the IQOS 2.4 Plus experience.
Once charged, the Holder is ready for one HEETS stick. After that use, the Holder is placed back inside the Pocket Charger before it can be used again.
A fully charged Pocket Charger provides enough power for up to 20 Holder uses.
The Holder also uses vibration alerts to indicate the beginning of heating and when the session is approaching its end.
Where the 3 DUO Improved the Format
The later IQOS 3 DUO kept the separate Holder and Pocket Charger concept but introduced two consecutive Holder uses.
That makes IQOS 3 DUO vs IQOS 2.4 Plus a useful comparison if the charging cycle matters more than the exterior design.
Soft Black or White?
There is no technology decision to make between the two 2.4 Plus colors.
Soft Black gives the device a darker, restrained appearance. IQOS 2.4 Plus White uses the same basic system but presents it in a much lighter finish.
The choice is primarily visual.
Staying Within the HEETS Generation
IQOS 2.4 Plus is designed for compatible HEETS tobacco sticks.
Within the range, HEETS Turquoise Label and HEETS Bronze Label offer two different profiles to explore.
